Reformation dress, Zara purse
The Reformation is always one of my first stops when visiting NYC. Their dresses are all made from recycled fabrics, have a hint of nostalgia and fit like a dream. This one was no exception and I love the soft blush tone. Paired with sky high platforms I found on sale at Zara and a rusty suede purse from there as well. An easy vintage look with an earth friendly twist.
I have never been a big fan of one pieces until this season… and now i can’t seem to quit wearing them. Of course that doesn’t mean bikinis are to be forgotten and especially now that I’ve discovered Mikoh’s creative styles. I paired the Waimea top with an old Mara Hoffman bottom i found on ebay last year (my mikoh bottom hadn’t shipped yet when i took these pics, but I love to mix and match). The Lenny Niemeyer Hibiscus Maillot is a bohemian masterpiece in my humble opinion and couldn’t be more flattering. And Lisa Marie Fernandez takes neoprene to another level with her one shoulder ruffled suit. Each of these suits are perfect for just about any swimming occasion…. even prancing around an empty pool.
Bowling requires great skill, a competitive nature and most of all the perfect outfit. This top was a one size fits all and one of those online shopping risks with a high reward if you are lucky. Well it paid off and has since become one of my favorite tops. The sandals are from Zara and reminded me of some of the new Isabel Marant styles from this season but without the hefty price tag. The necklace on the other hand was full price and worth every penny. I wear it with just about everything and it has become one of my favorite purchases of all time. All I had to do was tie up my skirt and bowl a strike for a perfect night of fashion and fun!
I absolutely LOVE 2 piece outfits that match perfectly and the bohemian effortlessness that Wilfred embodies. Wear them separate or together, they make getting dressed easy. These sandals are still one of my favorite purchases and the more I wear them the more distressed and worn in they look. This leather bag from H&M was also another well priced staple piece purchased years ago. And my newest daily necessity, a hat from Goorin Bros. that folds up and travels with ease.
I’m a huge fan of mixing high end and low end pieces… Not everything has to be expensive to look expensive. Take this Forever 21 sweater and Zara TRF top for instance, both were less than $25 and in my humble opinion always look great. On the opposite end these Stuart Weitzman boots were worth every penny I paid (on ebay) and have been worn more than enough to justify the price tag. And then there are the things you buy and never really know how often you will actually wear them… for example this puffer vest from Zara. I went back and forth deciding if I should keep or return and thankfully chose to keep it because I wear it with almost everything from workout clothes to casual looks like this one. It gives an otherwise simple look a little edge and a lot of warmth which is definitely needed in this miserable winter weather.
Shopping at Forever 21 can be a serious undertaking if you are short on time as it can be extremely overwhelming. That’s where online shopping comes in handy and when that little box of reasonably priced goodies shows up on my doorstep it can be a huge score. Examples A and B here… this skirt is one of the most expensive feeling and looking pieces I have added to my wardrobe in quite some time at this price point. It’s literally perfect, extremely flattering and can be worn with anything from tanks to crop tops to a chunky sweater. The necklace was a last minute addition to my “bag” so I could reach my free shipping quota. I have been eyeing the drool worthy Dylenlex necklaces for quite some time but haven’t wanted to reach into my pocketbook to pull out the big bucks without first test driving a similar statement necklace. And yes… I’m 34 and will never be too old to shop at Forever 21… online, that is.
I have been meaning to post these photos for a while and have finally gotten around to it thank goodness! I absolutely love this company and their gorgeous wraps that work for just about any occasion from traveling, to a dinner outdoors or just sitting by the sea. Mer-Sea not only does wraps but also the most amazing smelling candles and bath products you will ever get your hands on. Check them out at http://www.merseaco.com
