Top Fabric Market, Shorts All Saints (similiar Here), Purse Zara “Ethnic Messenger”, Shoes Calleen Cordero, Belt Streets Ahead

This outfit was a complete accident as I was changing out of one and throwing on another. Halfway through I decided I just wasn’t getting one more thing out of my closet to have to just hang back up again. This is probably my favorite belt, it has little pieces of copper and bronze all over distessed leather and makes even the most boring outfit look great.  When I saw this snake print at the fabric market I couldn’t resist making a tank out of it and I love how versatile it is. Calleen Cordero makes some of the most beautiful shoes and when I saw these on ebay in my size no less, I literally squealed in delight!  Ebay makes even the impossible seem possible sometimes.

top Stella McCartney, short Fabric Market, sweater vintage, shoes Tony Bianco

I have always wanted to take pics on the Great Wall but never realized how difficult it would be to climb up there in the middle of a Beijing summer.  When I saw this tiger tee on ebay I thought it would be perfect for this spot… plus ebay is always a steal.  I’m absolutely in love with cobalt blue for fall and couldn’t wait to wear the shorts I had made at the fabric market. The sweater was only $10 at a vintage store and i literally just pray it doesn’t wash up to the size of a toddler’s sweater.  I also happened to make two new friends on the way down… but I have no idea what either of them were saying… I think those might just be the best kind of friends!

Silk Market

Purple silk tank and white shorts Fabric Market, Shoes Tony Bianco “Karissa”, Sweatshirt UNIQLO, Booties Dolce Vita “Jamison”

So…. apparently China does not like wordpress.com because i was unable to log in and put any new posts up while I was there.  What I was able to do was visit an amazing place known as the fabric market in Shanghai.  The fabric market is this magical place where they can make just about anything for a fraction of the price.  Both of these pieces were made by a man named Kenny in booth 333… the shorts were originally black Patterson J. Kincaid that I had copied in 3 new colors… these cream ones along with cobalt blue and an eggplant purple. Im crazy about how silk separates always look so flawless and easy.  Sometimes a girl gets cold and needs to walk more than a few blocks so I threw on a wannabe Isabel Marant sweatshirt and booties!

Skirt Vintage, Silk top Fabric Market, Shoes Tony Bianco “Karissa”, necklace Isabel Marant, gold bracelet J.Crew

I love when two simple pieces come together effortlessly and look clean and crisp. I found this skirt in a vintage shop in Shanghai…. it was such a steal I couldn’t believe my eyes! The shirt was a little extra effort, as I am always looking for the perfect simple silk tanks and can never find what I want. I went to the fabric market in Shanghai and navigated through the hundreds of booths until I found one that had my elusive silk top hanging right in front. Not only did they have loads of colors to choose from but they also took my measurements and two days later I had this beautiful tank! The necklace is one of my favorite finds of all time… it is a sweet little dove from Isabel Marant that I found on ebay. I love searching for a bargain and there is no better feeling than finding a special little something for a fraction of retail.

Be Myne

skirt Myne “Valentina”, top Zara, shoes Tony Bianco “Karissa“, necklace StrimVintage

As a new blogger it may take a few posts to get the hang of things… but for now I will just dive right in!

I fell in love with this skirt the minute i laid eyes on it… it’s almost impossible for me to pull off a long skirt or dress without it feeling like a nightgown. That’s why this piece is so perfect, it has all the amazing qualities of a long flowing skirt as well as the leg flattering fun of a short one!  Its one of those skirts that makes you feel fabulous the second you slip it on… from the airy floating silk to the bold print that just puts a smile on your face.  Its not always easy deciding what to buy and the dreaded “will I wear it or will it get lost in the back of my closet”.  I usually try to imagine myself wearing it in many different ways and if it can be both dressed up and worn casually… all in all… this skirt rocks my nachos!
